Free QR Code Generator

No sign-up. No email. No expiry. Your QR code works forever.

Paste any link or text — the QR code updates instantly.

Free forever. No watermark.

Want to know how many people scan it?

The QR code above is static — it works forever, but it can't tell you anything. A trackable QR code shows you scan counts, locations, devices and trends, and lets you change the destination link without reprinting.

A free QR code generator with no catches

Most "free" QR code generators come with a catch: they make you create an account, they watermark your code, or — worst of all — they quietly give you a dynamic QR code on a trial, then deactivate it 14 days later so the code on your printed menus and flyers stops working until you pay.

This generator creates static QR codes. Your URL is encoded directly into the pattern, so the code belongs to you and works forever. We couldn't switch it off even if we wanted to. No sign-up, no email address, no watermark, and the generation happens entirely in your browser — the link you enter is never sent to our servers.

Static vs dynamic QR codes: which do you need?

A static QR code (what this page makes) encodes your link permanently. It's perfect when the destination will never change and you don't need data: Wi-Fi passwords, a link to your website on a business card, a one-off event poster.

A dynamic QR code redirects through a short tracking link. That unlocks two things static codes can't do: you can change the destination after printing, and you can see analytics — how many people scanned, when, where, and on what device. If you're spending money printing the code on menus, flyers, packaging or ads, that data is how you find out whether the spend worked. Read the full comparison in our guide to dynamic vs static QR codes.

How to create your free QR code

  1. Paste your link (or any text) into the box above.
  2. Pick a size — choose Large (1200px) if you're printing.
  3. Download the PNG and drop it into your design.
  4. Test it with your phone camera before sending anything to print.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No, never. Static QR codes can't expire — the link lives inside the pattern itself. If you've been burned by a code that stopped working, our guide on why QR codes stop working explains what happened.

Is there a scan limit?

No. Scanning a static QR code doesn't involve our servers at all, so there's nothing to limit.

Can I use it commercially?

Yes — menus, packaging, adverts, anything. It's your code.

Can I track scans of a static QR code?

Not directly — that's the one trade-off. If you need scan counts and analytics, try a trackable QR code free for a month, or read how to add analytics to your QR codes.
